Job Status: Fixed-term (2 years)

The position will be based at the Generator office in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Closing date for applications: Friday 1oth February 2017, 5.00pm

Creative development agency, Generator, is looking for an outstanding individual to develop and implement its creative and digital business support programme.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded, output-driven individual with strong contacts within the regional and national creative and digital industries; you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Digital Futures programme that provides specialist business support for creative and digital SMEs through an integrated programme of activity covering the whole of the North East Local Enterprise Area.

The programme is due to complete in December 2018 so we are looking for a bright individual who is also able to identify and act upon new initiatives, partnerships or market opportunities.

Digital Futures supports the growth and collaboration of existing and new creative and digital SMEs, enabling them to harness potential growth opportunities and identify emerging business models created by new technology and distribution methods. The candidate should have good knowledge of the routes to market and an ability to broker SME access to regional and national industry networks.

We are looking for someone that understand the importance of collaboration, between different types of business, but also amongst the individuals and organisations that exist to support and help grow this exciting industry regionally, nationally and globally.

The candidate will be resourceful and adaptable to ensure that this challenging programme is delivered on time and to budget; they will possess enthusiasm for supporting the growth of the creative and digital industries in the North East and be motivated to make the necessary connections with relevant support organisations and associated networks to ensure entrepreneurs and businesses can capitalise on the opportunities provided at Generator and more widely across the region.

Digital Union is also firmly bolted into Generator’s business support project (information attached) – the candidate will work alongside the Networks Manager to maintain regular contact with the Digital Union businesses, so that they can provide intelligence, help inform project implementation and access and capitalise on available support.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a challenging role, working within a supportive and dedicated team.

This post is part-funded by England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
