Culture Sec and Shennan for BPI AGM

Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Sajid Javid and the BBC’s Director of Music Bob Shennan will deliver keynote addresses at The BPI’s AGM this year.

Taking place at the ME London Hotel on September 1st, the meeting will see Tony Wadsworth CBE give his last address as BPI Chairman before stepping down later this year.

There will also be a panel discussion focusing on sources of funding for labels, with advice given on how to apply for finance from the Music Export Growth Scheme and the PRS for Music Foundation’s International Showcase and Momentum Funds.

Some quarters of the live music industry will want to get rotten fruit at the ready given the Culture Secretary’s opinion of secondary ticketing.
