FFWD is looking for dedicated young people (16-24) with an existing interest in produced electronic music and a passion to learn. A basic experience of music production software would be beneficial but not absolutely essential. All stylistic preferences will be considered from HipHop , Electronica and Drum n Bass, to House , Techno and Dubstep, and the skills you develop can be applied to your preferred style while working alongside Pop, Urban and Electronic music experts.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone wanting to develop their interest in producing music on a professional level.”
-Smoove (Smoove & Turrell)

Led by Mark Lowry (Shindig) and Smoove (Smoove and Turrell), FFWD will provide entry points to aspiring electronic music producers and vocalists who will get the opportunity to build, mix and record new tracks, set-up new collaborations, receive mentorship, secure performance opportunities and identify industry pathways.

You will get the opportunity receive support and advice on:

  • Equipment
  • Effects
  • Sampling
  • Groove
  • Working with Room Acoustics
  • Synthesis
  • Arrangment
  • Music Theory
  • Preparing Tracks to be Release Ready

Production courses lasting last 6 weeks, will run throughout 2015 and while there will be no cost to participate, spaces will be extremely limited. Also, as part of Generator ‘s search for individuals who show commitment, ability and potential, there will be an extension to these 6-week courses where exceptional participants will be selected to receive shorter, more intense support. This will include one-on-one tuition alongside full campaign and release support.

FFWD will be linked intrinsically to the industry with high profile producers and songwriters delivering 12 masterclasses throughout the year where they will offer insights into their own work, and creative processes but most importantly, offer information on their individual routes into the industry.  Producer and Course leader Mark Lowry (Shindig) agrees, adding:

“If you’re serious about your music and production then this course is a must”

The application process for these courses is now closed but keep an eye out for the remaining masterclass events
