Line-Up For This Year’s Twisterella Festival in Middlesbrough

A whole host of hotly tipped emerging artists including Bloxx, Red Rum Club, Lucia, Vistas, Dylan Cartlidge, Swimming Girls, Pom Poko, The Pearl Harts, Dancing On Tables, Mush, Peaness, EUT, Leif Erikson, Baby Teeth and The Vegan Leather, to name but a few, will be heading to the heart of Middlesbrough on Saturday 12th October 2019 for the 6th annual Twisterella Festival.

After spending 2019 performing at Glastonbury, SXSW and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Mighty Redcar star Dylan Cartlidge returns to home soil to headline the Westgarth Social Club stage.
Twisterella co-promoter Henry Carden said, “It’s an absolute privilege for us to have Dylan as one of our headliners at Twisterella 2019. We’ve worked closely with him for the past few years and we couldn’t be prouder of how he’s progressed – he’s genuinely one of the nicest people you could ever meet and he deserves all of the success that comes his way.”
Having sold-out the Westgarth Social Club on their last headline tour and having performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Middlesbrough back in May, Bloxx will be bringing their super-infectious grunge-pop back to Teesside to headline The Townhouse.
Twisterella co-promoter Andy Carr said, “We love bringing back a few familiar faces and Bloxx won a lot of new fans with their fantastic set at the Westy earlier this year. After last year’s Twisterella sold-out in record time, we’re incredibly proud of the line-up that we’ve assembled for this year’s festival. As always, there is a fantastic mix of international, national, regional and local artists who will once again be showing that Middlesbrough is one of the best places in the country for discovering new music.”
Andy continued, “We are passionate about presenting Middlesbrough as a confident and forward-thinking town that is very much at the cutting edge for showcasing the best new music. We’re incredibly proud to have created a sustainable event that has become a firm fixture on the UK’s inner-city festival calendar. Since day one, we have been determined to bring the finest emerging talent to Middlesbrough and this year’s festival is no exception. Twisterella has developed its own niche as a go-to event for the discerning music fan who is keen to keep ahead of the game as far as new acts are concerned.”
Tickets are on-sale now, priced at £17.50 plus booking fee from local outlets and online at SEE: https://seetickets.com/go/twisterella2019
With all of the venues less than 5 minutes walk from one another,  the 1,000 capacity multi-venue metropolitan music festival utilises established stages such as Teesside University Students’ Union, The Townhouse, TSOne and The Westgarth Social Club, along with pop-up sessions in some of the town’s coolest bars in nearby Baker Street and Bedford Street.
Since launching in 2014, Twisterella has established itself as one of the go-to events for new music discovery on the UK festival circuit, having previously showcased the likes of Sam Fender, Fickle Friends, Clean Cut Kid, Dream Wife, PINS, Black Honey, Fatherson and Boy Azooga amongst others.
The promoters involved in Twisterella both have a long history of bringing emerging acts to the region, having previously secured Teesside shows from the likes of Mumford & Sons, The 1975, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Sam Fender, Wolf Alice, James Bay, The Vaccines, Frank Turner, First Aid Kit, Daughter, Alt-J and many more earlier in their careers.
