Meet Bootcamp Graduate – Chris Jennings
My name is Chris Jennings, I am a South African-born, Teesside University graduate with a BA in web and multimedia, and a passion for anything design. I chose web and multimedia as a degree as it allows me to incorporate my creativity with problem solving. To me, that is a recipe for the perfect career.
My ideal position would be a front end developer/designer. I have been working with the Adobe Creative suite for over five years and I am very confident on the staple programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. In regards to the development side of things, I am extremely fluent in HTML5, CSS3 and have a very good understanding of JavaScript, jQuery and PHP. I have worked with frameworks in the past and have experience working with responsive web design as well as content management systems such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal.
I have recently completed Generator’s Digital Bootcamp and it’s been been incredibly educational to me. This course has taught me a number of skills that are essential in this industry including Agile, Scrum and how to conduct a design sprint just to name a few.
It also showed me how to work as a team within this industry and has given me a taste of agency life. This has only fuelled my passion for wanting to be a part of it.
I am aware I have a lot to learn and I am always looking for way in which I can do this. My ideal position would be somewhere in which I can grow, be integrated and shaped into an optimal team member within a creative agency.
