TIPPER OF THE WEEK – SALLY BRYANT

We continue to shine the spotlight the biggest and best emerging acts from across the UK. Each Monday, we ask one of our esteemed tippers to select five of their hottest tips to be featured on the site throughout the week.

Next up we have Sally Bryant who works with new artists at Leeds independent label Dance To The Radio and The Futuresound Group. She also enjoys DJing a fair bit too. Check out her tips below.

GRDNS

Bradford desert rock! GRDNS are a very cool, very new indie psych band on Dance To The Radio that have riffs and soul. Their second single ‘Juniper’, is a smooth, swirling psych track with vintage tones and a massive gritty Northern edge. SWEET. AS.

MAGICK MOUNTAIN

A power Leeds trio, made up of members of Pulled Apart By Horses, Menace Beach and Mother Vulpine. Fuzzy garage-rock with bite. Looking forward to hearing more big Magick Mountain tracks and catching them at Live at Leeds in May!

WHENYOUNG

I saw Whenyoung supporting the equally great Husky Loops last month and was totally won over by the combination of Aoife’s heart ache-y vocals over sweetly scruffy guitar lines. They’re great live, a lovely bunch and are out playing loads at the moment. They also have the best collection of band merch I’ve ever seen. Get involved.

FLING

There just absolutely ain’t no party like a Fling show party. With catchy glam indie tunes for blooming days and the totally mesmerising frontman of Charlie McSorley, FLING shows take you away to a feel-good, kaleidoscopic land of wonky pop that you don’t want to leave. Loads in store for FLING this year, including an EP out on Dance To The Radio and mini tour next month! #flingordie

TALLSAINT

You’re just going to have to sit and wait in anticipation for what Leeds’ Talllsaint has up her St Vincent x Wild Beasts x Little Dragon shaped sleeves. She will be out on the live circuit from May, I’d catch her at Live at Leeds festival if I were you.
