W North Appoints New Account Director

Newcastle-based PR agency, W North, has today announced the arrival of a new account director, with Jodie Balmer becoming the latest addition to its growing team.

With a decade of experience in marketing and communications across the globe, Jodie brings a wide range of expertise to the team and will be instrumental in helping with the growth plans for the award-winning PR and communications agency.

Having previously worked within the regional communications and digital industries, Jodie also brings global-level agency experience, having had roles at CHE Proximity and Red Havas in Australia, where she worked across marketing, PR, and social media disciplines.

W North is part of global PR agency, W Communications. With its HQ in London and offices in Amsterdam, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, it opened its North office in Newcastle in April 2017 and has already grown the North headcount to more than a dozen.

On what attracted her to W North, Jodie said: “W has such a good reputation, not only within the UK but internationally so it’s a huge privilege to have joined the team.

“W North has ambitious growth plans so it’s a really exciting time to join. The clients were also a massive pull, I have a keen interest in tech, healthcare and food and drink so it feels like a perfect fit. I’m really excited to get my feet properly under the table here and get working with the fantastically talented team.”

Based in Ouseburn’s Toffee Factory, W North, who won Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy at the 2018/19 CIPR PRide awards, works across a range of high-profile clients including Disaronno, Wiggle, Nextbase, and Changing Health. Recently, W North was voted 20th in the North East’s 50 best places to work.

Christian Cerisola, head of W North, said: “With the team expanding both in headcount and client roster, bringing in an additional account director will help us continue our growth plans. “We’ve known about Jodie’s work for some time and I’m really thrilled she’s now part of the W family. She’ll be a great asset to us and the young, hungry team we’ve managed to put in place.”
