Twickets to Ride

Fan-to-fan app based ticketing resale service Twickets has announced the backing of several high profile industry executives, including Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood Manger Ian McAndrew, Chrysalis Founder Chris Wright and former EMI Music and BPI Chairman Tony Wadsworth, who have all invested in the service.

Twickets Founder Richard Davies said: "I am delighted to welcome such an illustrious and well-connected group of experts to help with the growth of Twickets and am especially pleased that they all share my desire to see change in the ticket resale market”.

Davies continued: “With their help and expertise we can continue to grow our rapidly expanding community in the UK and internationally, providing a secure and transparent way for genuine fans of everything from music and theatre to sport to exchange their tickets with one another".

Founded in 2011 and recently re-launched with various new features, Twickets is a platform for tickets to music, theatre and sporting events, offered at face value or less.

The site and app has over 250,000 users in the UK and was developed in response to the escalating problem of secondary ticketing.

As reported last month the House of Lords recently passed legislation that introduces greater transparency around secondary ticketing sellers.
