Woman’s Hour and Diamond Deezers

Just as The Gen thought that we were running out of steam on Momentum headlines, the clock strikes for Woman’s Hour. PRS for Music Foundation, Arts Council England and Deezer have revealed Woman’s Hour (pictured) as the latest winner of the Momentum Deezer Award– meaning that the hotly tipped electro pop act from Cumbria will receive an extra £2,500 on top of their original Momentum grant.

Woman’s Hour, who are signed to the Secretly Canadian label said: “We’re so thrilled to have won the Momentum Deezer Award and to Deezer for providing a great platform for people to enjoy our music at their own leisure. But most importantly, thanks to everyone for listening to our record. See you on the road!”

As previously reported, the Momentum fund is managed by PRS for Music Foundation and is a two year programme, awarding grants between £5k-£15K using funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

In addition, a further nine beneficiaries of the Momentum fund were announced last week, including Attaque, Laura J Martin and Fear of Men.

PRS for Music Foundation will announce the 2015 deadlines soon. To find out more about Momentum, go here.
