SOLOMON GREY

Every now and then we’re tipped with an artist that has a bizarrely interesting backstory as well as some brilliant new music, and Anglo/Aussie Solomon Grey are a fine example.

Let’s go back to the start; Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson met in Oxford before they set about writing music together in an old lighthouse in Ireland back in 2009. All of this was before the partnership shifted down under to Australia however, balancing writing with working on a farm. Pretty good story then, huh? Throw in the rejection of a sync deal with fast food giant and an exceptionally long distance partnership and we end up with ‘Gen V’.

Following on from 2012’s debut ‘Firechild’; this track is set for an August release via Black Butter Recs and is a beautiful, Radiohead-reminiscent flush of loose guitar and jittering percussion.

Keep up to date on Facebook.
