AIM Awards Announced

This year’s AIM Independent Music Awards will again take place at The Brewery venue in Clerkenwell, London on September 8th.

Organised by the Association of Independent Music (AIM), the ceremony celebrates independent artists and the sector with 16 award categories including ‘Independent Label of the Year’ and the ‘Golden Welly’ awards for Best Independent Festival.

XFM’s John Kennedy and Radio One’s Alive Levine (pictured) will again present the awards. AIM awards organiser Lara Baker said: “Independent labels have proven once again their undoubted lead in A&R in the last 12 months. From grime, to metal, folk and dubstep, it’s the indies who are leading the field in creativity, innovation and talent. We can’t wait to celebrate this year’s talent and honour the icons of our sector on September 8”.

The awards are voted for by a panel of judges including representatives from Radio 1 and 1Xtra, 6Music, XFM, Drowned In Sound, The Quietus, Mixmag, The Independent, Kerrang! and Metal Hammer. Find out more, watch last year’s highlights and get tickets here.
