ARDYN

Today’s track comes from Gloucestershire based brother and sister duo Ardyn, who in the form of  ‘Help Me On My Way’ boast a mature and developed type of dark indie pop.

The song is a progression of sweet sounding keys and choppy guitars to hard-hitting, rock infused choruses. Strating with playful glockenspiels, similar to the likes of Sylvan Esso, it progresses to a much more dramatic sound more similar to the likes of Austra or Charlotte OC.

It’s perhaps a mixture that shouldn’t work but the track is well produced and flows and builds in an emotionally effective way. It also seems to suit vocalist Katy Person’s strong and wide-ranging vocal to a tee. In addition it’s a showcase of the type of deep sibling bond that gives great strength to the track and is at the core of so many great acts.

With recently signing to National Anthem (who supported the likes of Haim in the very beginning) and with UK pop heavyweight Sam Smith having recently played their track on a visit to Radio 1 earlier this month, it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last we hear from Ardyn.
