BIG DOPE P

‘Ibogance’ is a veritable pinball machine of styles and influences; flicking between hip-hop, ghetto house, electro and countless other genres as Big Dope P is let loose on the flippers with little to no restraint.

The track is taken from the French-born/London-based producer’s ‘Hit Da Blokk’ EP, released earlier this month via Nightwave’s Heka Trax label.

The six track collection [or seven, for those purchasing on vinyl] features three original tracks as well as remixes from the likes of Rustie, Ikonika and DJ Earl Teklife.

Normally when an artist spans as many genres as Big Dope P, the aim is for each element to sit harmoniously alongside one another, but ‘Ibogance’ (and indeed ‘Hit Da Blokk’ as a whole) is so successful precisely because they just don’t.

House beats, hip-hop samples and trap synths all jostle for position, the result being an unboundedly fun and limitlessly energetic sound.
