BPI, MPA Toronto Trade Mission

Music trade bodies the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and the Music Publishers Association (MPA) have announced their first ever trade mission to Toronto in association with Canadian Music Week.

The one-day event will take place on Wednesday, 6th May at the Sheraton Centre and will feature panels and presentations, with speakers from across the industry including publishers, labels, distribution, licensing, retail, live and marketing. There will also be an exclusive networking event.

BPI Director of International Chris Tams said: “The Canadian market offers huge potential for British music – one in seven of all artist albums bought in the country are by UK acts. There is a hunger for British music across the Atlantic, be that in the charts or in filling live music venues. It’s great to be able to offer BPI members an affiliation with Canadian Music Week and we look forward to striking up lasting partnerships with businesses in the North American market”.

The mission is open to BPI and MPA members at a cost of £240+VAT per person and this includes a pass to the Canadian Music Week three-day conference, taking place from 7th-9th May.

Those interested in attending need to submit an application form before the deadline of Friday 27th February.
