F Y F E

Apparently today is ‘Blue Monday’, officially the most depressing day of the year. Well if you’ve made your way through to us here at Tipping Point towers you’re in luck, as we have a burst of new music that is sure to brighten your day, or at the very least distract you from the relentless number of photos of snow.

F y f e has only very recently sprung from the depths of the blogosphere, and his debut track ‘Solace’ has now gone viral, racking up close to thirty thousand plays in just over two weeks. However in that period of time no one has yet to publically pin down his true identity, and while we have a good idea of who it may be, we’re not going to be the ones to burst the bubble of anonymity quite yet.

‘Solace’ is a minimal affair, featuring a prominent lead vocal that guides the listener through a serene soundscape of echoing guitars and tightly cut beat. There are elements of James Blake and Alt J that pervade throughout, however my gut feeling is that f y f e has a lot more in the locker to expand upon the sound which is presented in ‘Solace’.
