KATE MILLER

Bubbling under the surface, coming ever closer to the boil, 19-year-old Kate Miller joins an ever-growing list of exciting, young British female vocalists who are vying for 2014 to be their year. First attracting attention late in 2013, Miller has drawn early plaudits from the likes of MTV, Notion, and BBC Radio 1, and a brief biography available on her management’s website helpfully reveals that her journey began through a chance discovery at an open mic night by songwriter & producer Barry Blue.

Though discovered in the dimly lit rooms of London’s grass roots venues, Kate Miller is now working with an array of famed songwriters, including Jon Green (Ed Sheeran,Lewis Watson), Jesse Quinn (Keane), Jim Irvin & Julian Emery (Lissie, Lana Del Rey, Chloe Howl) and Ed Harcourt (Frank Turner, Jamie N Commons, Paloma Faith). Her latest effort ‘Collar Up’ is undoubtedly a statement of intent by Miller, arriving in the shape of a dark, ethereal pop gem. Directly engaging while retaining an anthemic aura, infectious yet not overly familiar, ‘Collar Up’ contains all of the necessarily elements.

With her debut EP reportedly due for release in the near future, Kate Miller is certainly an artist to keep your eye on.
