Music Futures: More Names Announced

Generator has revealed further speakers for its Music Futures conference in November including outgoing BPI Chairman Tony Wadsworth, Luke McGrellis from Sony / ATV publishing and Head of Editorial at Deezer James Foley.

They will join the likes of Head of Music at Radio 1 & 1Xtra George Ergatoudis at the industry event on 6th November at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.

Ergatoudis will lead a discussion about the future of music streaming curation and whether or not the playlist will kill off the traditional album format. Regular readers of The Gen will know that the boy George has previously been fairly outspoken on the matter.

Other names include Director of Domino Recordings John Dyer, Head of Music at BT Chris Price, broadcaster Jen Long, Sentric CEO Chris Meehan, Music Ally’s Karim Fanous and Kendal Calling co-founder Andy Smith.

Generator’s Business Support Programme Manager, Jonny Gray said “We are delighted to have assembled another high quality line up of guests and content for this year’s Music Futures Conference. Over the past 4 years, the conference has established itself as a firm fixture in the calendar of both the regional and national music industry on the back of the quality of the speakers we’re able to attract to the North East and this year could be the best one yet”.

Tickets are priced at £60 (£30 Student discount). Thanks to Generator’s ERDF funding, tickets are available FREE OF CHARGE to businesses and artists based in the North East of England.
