PHORIA

Phoria are a five-piece band from Brighton making gorgeous music that taps into influences from James Blake through to Sigur Ros. The track was premiered on Noisey, the music channel of the institution that is Vice. ‘Red’ is a slow, soothing jaunt down a lane of crunching claps, uplifting piano lines and clever sampling that alludes to the past, sort of like Boards Of Canada.

Phoria’s productions are nothing short of amazing, but the prospect of seeing the band live is also something to savour. Last year they performed at the Cultural Olympiad, and they were one of the first acts to use 360-degree filmmaking technology as part of a concert. The song comes from the band’s ‘Bloodworks’ EP, which is out now on Akira Records.
