SAINT RAYMOND

‘Letting Go’ is a large serving of inoffensive insouciant pop-music and is the perfect soundtrack for those sunset festival moments. This ambient track is by Saint Raymond, aka Callum Burrows, an 18-year-old solo artist from Nottingham who’s latest EP ‘Escapade’ reached number 24 in the iTunes chart, when it was released in May. Since it’s release he has gained a lot of fans and support from the likes of Gabrielle Aplin, who released Saint Raymond’s EP through her record label Never Fade Records.

‘Letting Go’ is an emotive record that gets under your skin thanks to it’s infectious carefree nature and effortless feel. As soon as you press play the record bursts into a cascade of shimmering beats and soft melodies that rise and fall throughout accentuating every lyric. It is a meld of electronic beats, subdued sythns and organic guitar hooks which together creates a fluid and mesmerising piece of 21st Century pop music.

This ambient track ignites the feeling of excitement as Callum’s poignant and sweeping vocals reflect on that joyous feeling of being free, the anticipation of adventure and discovering something new. With the likes of Jake Bugg and Dog Is Dead having already put Nottingham on the map musically, Saint Raymond is someone to get just as excited about in the future I feel.

Saint Raymond will play the Reading and Leeds Festivals this month.
