SAM LAXTON

Sam Laxton’s new track ‘Voyager’ is pretty epic, to say the least and The Tipping Point is pleased to bring this to you as our first exclusive.

Hovering between EDM and dubstep, the new material from the Newcastle-upon-Tyne producer sounds like something that a DJ like Skrillex or Porter Robinson would be smashing out in a stadium somewhere in America, with the crowd going nuts.

Uplifting melodies sit side-by-side with dirty drops, and around the two-minute mark everything breaks down briefly for a picturesque piano interlude, and then you’re right back in it.

Sam has classical training as a pianist and this shines through the arrangement and high level of production, which is astonishing for someone so young.

Mr. Laxton has not gone unnoticed either, as BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens chose a track by Sam as part of the BBC Introducing segment on his show earlier this year.

‘Voyager’ is out on Philosophy Recordings on December 9.
