SHADOWLARK

As the working week draws to a close, we have the perfect song for you to lose yourself in a serene moment in time. This is three-piece Shadowlark and their wonderful new single ‘Control’.

Leeds has an exciting music scene at the moment and Shadowlark’s ethereal electro pop certainly adds to that. Singer Ellen Smith has a striking and haunting voice which is similar in grandeur to Lana Del Rey or Hannah Smith from London Grammar. The band is complete with James Warrender’s crashing drums and Chris Quick’s very cool sounding synths.

Behind the beauty and innocent sound of ‘Control’ lies some darker lyrics about our lives being dictated, which for right now is obviously a very relevant subject matter.

The band played just their tenth show at Glastonbury in June, and whilst there doesn’t seem to be any dates confirmed at the moment, we’re sure after ‘Control’ they’ll be out on the road soon playing to many fans.
