Spotify: Top of the Apps

Spotify is now officially the most popular streaming app in the world in terms of active users, downloads and revenue, according to a report published by App Annie. Spotify was followed closely by Pandora Radio, which was the top service in the US. Deezer, Beats and even TIDAL made the Top Five.

The report also reveals that streaming apps worldwide saw data consumption per active Android phone user grow by around 25% year-on-year while downloads increased by about 15%. Interestingly, revenue from in-app purchases more than doubled.
