The Tipping Point Showcase at The Great Escape

Generator’s Tipping Point Team enjoyed yet another successful trip to Brighton for The Great Escape last week with the festival’s eleventh instalment attracting huge crowds of industry figures and music lovers to the south coast as always.

With our showcase taking place on the Saturday, we had plenty of time to check out the hottest emerging acts the festival had to offer with Evolution Emerging performers EAT FAST playing to a capacity venue and earning huge praise in the process, whilst fellow Newcastle foursome Coquin Migale stormed through a typically boisterous set with Radio 1 and 6 Music presenters Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq in attendance.

Aside from our North East acts, London blues rockers Hidden Charms produced one of the standout performances of the festival with their full throttle rock n’ roll winning over huge numbers of the crowd, and fellow London-based outfit Anteros achieved exact the same thing with their late night set proving a major hit with revellers.

Following all that was our hugely successful Tipping Point showcase on the Saturday afternoon at Komedia featuring our usual mix of locally and nationally tipped artists.

Newly-signed Fiction Records act The Big Moon kicked off proceedings with their garage rock bangers proving very popular with the packed venue, whilst Liverpool indie upstarts Clean Cut Kid continued the party with frontman Mike Halls’ onstage banter charming the audience and their anthemic singles undoubtedly a resounding success.

The second half of the showcase saw two of the North East’s finest emerging acts take to the stage with indie four-piece Lisbon producing one of the heaviest sets of the weekend and fellow rockers Boy Jumps Ship showcasing many of the tracks from their outstanding debut album Wake Up.

All in all we were absolutely delighted with our showcase at this year’s festival and we can’t wait to deliver another exciting lineup in 2017!
