Up All Night

The music industry certainly isn’t short of trade bodies and another has just sprung up- The actually pretty fun sounding Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) is a new organisation that aims to be “the voice of the night time industries”.

Presumably, that voice would sound scarily like a cross between Tom Waits and Shane MacGowan, with perhaps a sprinkling of Donald Fagen in there.

Anyway, the NTIA says that says that it will do all of the usual trade body stuff such as lobbying politicians and decision makers to ensure the night time industries receive recognition for their contribution to the economy, in terms of employment, business rates, regeneration of areas and tourism to the UK.

It has been founded by Old Truman Brewery co-founder and CEO of The Vibe Bar Alan D Miller, who said: “We want to provide a voice for those in the night time industries who range from the single venue operator to those with numerous venues. We need our fellow owners and operators to sign up with us so that we can be an even stronger voice in the UK. This is the first step of creating something that can be enormously influential”.

Several other industry players are on the advisory board, including Columbo Group founder Steve Ball, Founder of Proud bars and venues Alex Proud and veteran live Promoter Sir Harvey Goldsmith.
