VASSER

Kent-based producer Sam Breathwick has been getting a fair bit of attention under his musical guise Vasser and with good reason. He’s barely 18-years-old and is producing some of the most intriguing electronic noises around.

Taking hints from the likes of Jamie XX and Mount Kimbie in his sparse, intricate beat-creation, Vasser bleeps, tickles and fizzles its way around the brain with soothing future tones. Debut track ‘Stay With Me’ was spun by the likes of Phil Taggart and Mista Jam, making Vasser a bit of a hit over at Radio 1.

His latest release ‘Whatever You Want’ is already fetching more widespread attention, playlisted on Spotify countless times and catching the ears of DJ TODDLA T in yet another major radio play. ‘

Whatever You Want’ carries itself slowly, toying with pristine melodic textures and chopped-up vocal samples. There’s a jangling arpeggio that runs through the opening of the tracks carefully constructed clicks, bleeps and claps, returning near the end before some exquisitely measured guitar-work neatly wraps up the track.

With tracks as slick as this in his armoury, Vasser has the potential to do big things.
