VICKTOR TAIWÒ

Vicktor Taiwò’s ‘Paradise Island’ is a song that channels soul, RnB and cinematic vision. The second part of a short story, preluded by ‘Digital Kids’, the song has hints of 808 era Kanye and Lana Del Rey. Dramatic, deep and guttural, the intimate, auto-tuned vocals give way to a narrative that is perplexing and emotional, with Taiwò’s bare honesty not being clouded by metaphors or over complicated production.

Anyone who’s a fan of the new wave of experimental darker pop/RnB will certainly dig this, and if you’re into your Banks, Tove Lo, The Weeknd, Chet Faker etc., then give Taiwò a spin; you’ll certainly feel something.
