WILL JOSEPH COOK
Tunbridge Wells singer-songwriter Will Joseph Cook is currently gearing up to release his new EP ‘You Jump I Run’, and has so far dropped three gorgeous slices of indie in the run up to its release.
His song ‘Message’ recently reached number one on the overall Hype Machine chart, ahead of Kendrick Lamar; that’s no mean feat considering how much buzz we all know ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ has been getting recently.
He’s certainly capturing the imagination of a legion of fans thanks to his playful tunes, and is only set to soar further into the stratosphere with his latest offering.
On ‘Streets Of Paris’ Cook creates what is almost the perfectly formed indie-pop gem. With skittering rhythms, a melody built almost entirely on acoustic guitars (with some lovely infectious licks thrown into the mix) and his own quirky vocal style, it’s a song that skips along with the breeze.
Before you know it, it’s over in a flash, taking its catchy summery vibes with it. You’ll want to click play again, just to have the same joyous experience once more. It’s also a free download if you sign up to his mailing list; can’t complain about that.
