Social Bite started as a small sandwich shop in Edinburgh that started offering employment and free food to homeless people. It has grown to become a major charity with a mission of eradicating homelessness in Scotland.
The Newcastle Big Sleep Out will see more than 2000 people spend the night in Exhibition Park to raise money for local charity partnership, Street Zero which will end rough sleeping in Newcastle by 2022.
Entertainment will be provided by local musicians and Si King from the Hairy Bikers is reading the bedtime story.
The event will see the city stand alongside the rest of the world, hosted by Newcastle City Council, it will be the first event produced by Newcastle Park’s Trust.
As a leading organisation, stakeholder and influencer in the city we are inviting you to be part of this global movement, in a demonstration of solidarity and social responsibility to shine a spotlight on the issue and help end homelessness.
Let’s spend the night walking in the shoes of those we normally walk by.
