The Pink Lane Jazz Co-operative based in Newcastle have launched a campaign to buy The Globe pub and music venue in the City to turn into a live music venue and education centre. Rather than simply fundraising or choosing the crowd funding route, they are offering shares to investors for between £200- £20,000.
A statement said: “We aim to create an inclusive centre for jazz and improvised music – a place where people come to listen, play and dance; a place where artists can learn, share and develop their skills”.
It continued: “We’re not asking you to give us money. We want you to invest. You can apply to withdraw your shares after three years if you want to, or you can earn interest on them”.
