The lineup announcements roll on, with Liverpool Sound City announcing that The Vaccines will close the first day of their event, joining previously announced headliners Belle & Sebastian and The Flaming Lips.
Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi said: “We promised a massive and credible line-up this year and we delivered. The Vaccines, The Flaming Lips and Belle & Sebastian will play to an audience of thousands in one of the coolest cities in the world on the banks of the River Mersey in the unique setting of our brand new Docklands home. It does not get much better than that”.
Pichilingi continued; “Add to that literally hundreds of the best and brightest acts from around the world who will join them on the bill. We are so excited about the endless possibilities of our new festival home. It means we can offer so much more than just a live music festival. We can immerse our audience in an amazing setting with the best backdrop in the world and give them a totally fantastic experience’.
Other artists announced include Roni Size, Mortal Orchestra and Fucked Up. After appearing as a keynote speaker at Sound City 2014, Thurston Moore returns with The Thurston Moore Band and a live set at this year’s event.
