VOX is a unique artist development opportunity, providing mentoring in production, songwriting, recording skills and the music industry from some of the best music producers in the region. Emerging vocalists will receive over 25 hours of fully supported, focused and flexible support across a ten week period – an approach that is tailored to the needs of the participants. All vocal stylistic preferences will be considered on application.

“Previous vocalists graduating from the VOX course have gone on to release singles, support high profile artists, achieve airplay on national radio and coverage on influential blogs and websites”

Led by successful regional producers Wayne McDonald (The ILLionaires), Mark Lowry (Shindig) Smoove (Smoove and Turrell), John Elliott (Trafik) and Oscar Cassidy (Nick Pride & The Pimptones) the five selected participants will be supported to develop and experiment with their own style and skills, record industry standard tracks, work in a professional studio environment and receive expert industry training and artist development to fast-track their singing careers.

Participants will be supported to:

• Develop their own style, skills & sound
• Work with production mentors in a professional studio environment
• Receive expert industry advice
• Record industry standard tracks
• Receive advice and support around release strategies
• Develop effective collaboration and experimentation

The programme will begin on the 18th January 2016 and will last 10 weeks. While there will be no cost to participate, spaces will be extremely limited.

VOX will be linked intrinsically to the industry through the FFWD Masterclass programme which involves high profile producers and songwriters delivering 12 masterclasses throughout the year where they will offer insights into their own work, and creative processes but most importantly, offer information on their individual routes into the industry.

Unlike controversial courses that prepare people for the disappointment of X Factor style auditions, VOX has an emphasis on creative and professional development; there is a long term approach with mentorship from expert producers.
