NGI Confirmed as Headline Sponsor For Pioneering North East Digital Video Content Platform

In a bid to embody the true spirit of the North East, a new free independent digital video content platform has launched today officially backed by NewcastleGateshead Initiative.

Powered by leading Tyneside video production and animation agency, Three Motion Media, #UnlikeNEwhere will deliver a dedicated series of videos in the 12 next months.

Designed to inspire local, national and international audiences, content will be hosted and shared via the #UnlikeNEwhere website; giving organisations and individuals an opportunity to portray the region as a first-class destination for investment and exploration.

Its founders have said it wishes to unearth, create and share stories that reflect the unique character of the region and is delighted to welcome NGI as Headline Sponsor.

UnlikeNEwhere’s Creative Director, Neil-Wood Mitchell, explains: “We’re super proud to launch our new platform and we’ll be actively finding the places and the people that embody the spirit of the North East.

“This is a campaign designed to directly benefit those who live and work here, so we’ll be inviting the public to share their own ideas and stories and join us on the journey.”

In the coming weeks, #UnlikeNEwhere videos will be shared across social media, its new website and will be made available to the public and businesses alike for them to embed on their own platforms.

By creating a library of content that can be freely shared, #UnlikeNEwhere hopes to generate positive publicity for the North East.

NGI Chief Executive, Sarah Stewart, continues: “It’s fantastic to see the level of pride that organisations have in the region. #UnlikeNEWhere’s desire to tell compelling stories of our places and people is a great example of this and it will serve as an additional resource for businesses across the North East to tap into as part of their sales and marketing activities.

Meanwhile, Three Motion Media’s Commercial Director Gavin Knights, who like his partner Neil moved to the region from very different parts of the UK, added: “The North East is the true microcosm of the UK. I grew up and lived in the commuter belt which saw most heading on a slow and uncomfortable journey into London every day.

“We chose this region and we have seen our business thrive with partners locally, across the UK and Europe.
