Escape Artists: 150 for 2015

The Great Escape has announced its first 150 artists in addition to its main conference strands and a spotlight on the UK as the event celebrates its tenth year.

Alabama Shakes will headline a Brighton Dome show, with other artists announced including Slaves, Soak, Django Django, Girl Band, Turbowolf and The Thurston Moore Band. You can see the complete 150 artists here.

As with last year, the focus of the convention will take the form of four key full day strands: ‘Music Licensing – Explained At Last!’, ‘Music Marketing Is Broken – Let’s Fix It’, ‘How To Sell Out Gracefully – Better Brand Partnerships’ and ‘What’s The Point Of A Record Label Anyway?’

Commenting on the confirmed artists, Festival Director Kat Morris said: “The Great Escape is extremely proud to champion emerging talent and creativity across the entire music industry. For the past decade, TGE has given upcoming artists the opportunity to perform for 18,000 passionate fans each year who are all hugely supportive of new music”.

Morris continued: “To mark this very special tenth anniversary, we are excited to be bringing back some very special guests who have all performed iconic and memorable shows in previous years to play alongside 400 of 2015s hottest emerging artists from across the world”.

The Great Escape will partner with UK Music to put a spotlight on UK talent and Chief Executive Jo Dipple commented: “I am delighted the Great Escape has put the UK in the spotlight for its 10th anniversary. We produce the best music in the world so it is right to acknowledge that and give a bigger platform to our emerging artists. I can’t wait to hear some great live music in May”.

The Great Escape takes place across various venues in Brighton from 14th -16th May and you can find out more here. Three-day festival passes at saver prices, which give access to all of the core gigs over three days, are on sale now for £49.50 with delegate passes still available at a discounted early bird price of £145.
