Glasto: Gone in 30 Minutes

Tickets for 2016’s Glastonbury Festival sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale on Sunday.

All 135,000 tickets for next year’s event have now been sold, including 16,800 coach and ticket packages sold on the preceding Thursday night.

A statement from the festival’s organisers said: “We have, once again, been staggered by the sheer number of people from around the world who hoped to come to the festival, with demand significantly outstripping supply”.

It continued: “We’re sorry to all of those who missed out – we really wish we could fit you all in! But there will be a resale of any returned tickets in the spring, and registration will open again in the next few days”.

Coldplay are the current bookies favourite to headline the event, with Muse and Adele also apparently in the picture- though Gen readers may want to heed the cautionary tale of the man who tried to put £15,000 on Radiohead writing the next Bond theme, only for it to fall to Sam Smith.
