Jack Garret Tops Sound of 2016

BRITs Critics’ Choice winner Jack Garratt (pictured) has now also topped the BBC’s Sound of 2016 poll.

The heavily tipped (and heavily bearded) Garratt said: “Winning the BBC Music Sound Of 2016 poll has left me feeling pretty stunned at the end of one of the most emotionally and physically intense years of my life. I cannot thank the BBC enough for their continued support, and everyone who voted for me. Every other name on the list is unbelievably talented, and I hope this year will be a great one for all of us”.

Those other names on the list that Garret is referring to in the Top Five are Alessia Cara, NAO, Blossoms and WSTRN. 144 UK based music industry experts from newspapers, magazines, blogs and commercial radio and TV compiled the long list. Don’t worry everyone, it is all in the hands of the experts, with previous winners including Years & Years (2015), Jessie J (2011), Adele (2008) and Ellie Goulding (2010) alongside The Bravery (2005) and Little Boots (2009).
