Momentum Music Artists Announced

Bill Ryder-Jones (pictured), Ben Khan, Spring King, XO and Telegram are among the latest round of artists to receive Momentum Music funds from PRS for Music Foundation (PRSF) and Arts Council England (ACE).

Spotify is now the fund’s official partner, and for the first time is offering a rewards package to artists including promotional opportunities and access to tools, features and best practices that will enable them to forge better connections with Spotify users.

Executive Director of PRS for Music Foundation Vanessa Reed said: “Now in its third year, Momentum continues to be one of our most popular programmes, attracting an increasingly broad range of applications and offering support to more artists than ever before. I’m delighted that alongside funds provided by PRS Foundation and Arts Council England, the latest artists will each receive targeted support to use Spotify’s platform to their advantage”.

Artist Ambassador at Spotify Bryan Johnson added: “This latest round of Momentum funding, the first with Spotify’s involvement, features an exciting line up of artists representing a wide variety of genres. We look forward to working closely with all the artists and their teams to assist in furthering their careers through the Spotify reward package, and to help showcase their music globally to our 75 million active users”.

As previously much reported by The Gen (to the extent that the pun and wordplay well has run dry), Momentum is managed by PRSF and awards grants of £5,000-£15,000 using funding from Arts Council England.

The next deadline for Momentum applications is 6th October. Find out more and see the complete list of artists here.
