Music Futures Keynote Announced!

Generator  are thrilled to announce that Geoff Taylor, Chief Executive Officer at the BPI will deliver the key note address at Music Futures on Thursday 12th November at Sage Gateshead.

During his 8 year tenure at the BPI, Geoff has been at the forefront of many battles that the music industry has had to encounter, not least combatting piracy on all levels. As such, along with UK Music, he has been instrumental in changing consumer behaviour working with technology partners, despite some resistance, to ensure that music is valued correctly and help educate consumers that they should be paying for it.

At the conference Geoff will expand on how the future will look for the music Industry and how tech will continue to affect the changing patterns of consumption and distribution from the future of the high street right through to streaming and playlist curation effectively replacing radio.

Speaking about the conference Geoff said, “The music industry is constantly adapting its business models to take advantage of new technology and to offer consumers new ways to engage with music. This makes forward-looking conferences such as Music Futures vital to help us anticipate future trends and understand their implications for the whole music ecosystem. Music Futures is now a major event in our music industry calendar and I am very much looking forward to delivering its keynote address this year.”
