AUGUST + US

As things start to get hectic as we begin 2015 proper, it’s nice to have a reminder that life shouldn’t be all work and no play.

This stellar track from Manchester’s Simeon McLean, formerly of Kid British which also brought us Bipolar Sunshine, is a chilled out slice of sunny alt-pop. McLean’s vocals have the same laid back, reverb-laden that are reminiscent of the likes of Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker or Ernest Greene AKA Washed Out, with the floaty synth rhythm lazily floating in and out.

It’s a track that wants you to live in the moment; to forget about things that are getting you down because, in the end, they won’t mean as much as the fun you’ve had and the memories you’ve created.

As McLean repeats throughout the song, “What are we living for if it’s not to have fun?” ‘FUN’ is a musical New Year’s resolution that has “Carpe diem” stamped all over it.

August + Us have new material on the way very soon, get excited.
