BOY JUMPS SHIP
This week sees Newcastle four-piece Boy Jumps Ship embark on Generator’s very own Mapped Out tour, and so what better to way to celebrate the anthemic rockers than to feature them on The Tipping Point. Following in the footsteps of previous headliners Night Engine and The Ramona Flowers, the Mapped Out tour will take Boy Jumps Ship from Exeter to Hartlepool and everywhere in between.
Forming in 2010, the band have achieved local hero status in the North East, slowly gaining support from the likes of Kerrang! and Rock Sound, supporting We Are the Ocean and The Xcerts to name but a few, and bagging a main stage slot at Evolution Festival 2013. Having recently entered the studio with acclaimed rock producer Pete Miles who has previously worked with The King Blues and Sonic Boom Six, Boy Jumps Ship will release a new EP in the coming months. On March 10th, the band will release ‘Better Days’, the third and final single from their ‘Be Good. Be Gracious’ EP.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0kmAhpy9q8A soaring slice of powerhouse rock with pop-punk nuances, Better Days has the kind of life-affirming, fist pumping quality that’s reminiscent of Biffy Clyro‘s ‘Mountains’ and a huge chorus that brings to mind festival sing-a-longs. Most importantly, its wholly heartfelt and sincere – one listen is evidence enough of how passionate Boy Jumps Ship are about what they’re doing. There’s buckets of potential on display here, and with rock music exceeding everything else in the UK at the moment and the likes of You Me at Six hitting the coveted number 1 album spot, 2014 could truly be Boy Jumps Ship‘s year.
