DOM ROBINSON

Listening to ‘First Love’, the gentle guitar chords and mellow vocals could mislead you to think you were listening to Ben Howard, and that’s in no way a bad thing, but Dom Robinson is making a name for himself in the constantly moving modern folk music scene.

Haunting vocals accompanied by thoroughly honest lyrics glide across the soft instrumentals. The different layers of vocals compliment each other perfectly, bringing somewhat of a Bombay bicycle club effect to the singing, creating a lingering atmosphere that stays soft until the crashing of drums and build up of feelings ultimately collide.

Dom Robinson’s mixture of slight electronic levels with acoustic instruments bring together a soulfully good modern folk track. If you haven’t been lucky enough to have already caught it being played on the radio, you sure will soon.
