FLAWES

Despite Flawes having already graced the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull, further info on the London via Huddersfield three-piece is scant at this early stage (even the Google friendly name offers only a little more), but they also made some waves with debut ‘Don’t Wait For Me’ in 2015, and have since released two EPs of dreamy, early hours of the morning indie gems, of which ‘Blank Dice’ is more of the same.

‘Blank Dice’ is all chiming synths and pop hooks for fans of Bastille, Years And Years and Cape Cub, and has Ibiza Rocks 2018 written all over it. Indie-pop beautifully arranged, backed up with sumptuous vocals and an endearing danceable beat.

From the reverb laden intro and emotive vocal, as the track’s gentle verse gives way to an insanely catchy chorus and lush guitars by third or fourth listen you will barely be able to remember a time when you didn’t have this song in your life. So, when the double chorus with false ending segues majestically into a bluesy guitar break, even a vocoder segment can’t dampen the lovely late summer vibe Flawes create.

Charming, likeable and personal enough to let you in while retaining an air of mystery, expect ‘Blank Dice’, as well as the band themselves, popping up on plenty more playlists near you soon.
