LYCIO

Like gazing wistfully through a rain soaked window, the music of Lycio is plaintive, emotional and utterly gorgeous.

Hailing from Birmingham, this young three-piece has just released its second official track (after a couple of demos) and is already gathering acclaim from radio and blogs alike. It’s easy to see why.

After the success of ‘Air Part 1’, latest single ‘Saharan King’ is a slowly drifting breeze of heartache and crushingly beautiful agony. The rich, soulful vocals are dripping in raw emotion and yearning as the melody builds. This is a band which doesn’t so much wear its heart on its sleeve as carry it around on a velvet cushion to be presented to the listener.

The sound of Lycio is distinctive yet familiar, weaving a well trodden path of despair and disappointment but with a deftness and elegance not often heard. It doesn’t just sound wonderful, it is eminently relatable and feels real, like the pain is your own and is about to consume you. Torment and longing never sounded so heavenly.
