We continue to shine the spotlight the biggest and best emerging acts from across the UK. Each Monday, we ask one of our esteemed tippers to select five of their hottest tips to be featured on the site throughout the week.

Next up we have Olivia Douglas, PR executive at Ditto Music. Discover some of the best new artists and bands around right now in her tips below.

Jamilah Barry dropped the visuals for her newest track ‘Closer’ last month and I’m so into it. Think soulful, almost 90’s RnB with a chilled dancehall edge and flawless vocal harmonies at just the right sweet spots. The right amount of funk kicks in half way through and the track stays on the same level throughout without leaving anyone bored.

This girl kills it, the British nu-jazz scene is coming UP and although Estee has only dropped one release so far I’ve got good feelings for future releases. It’s like honey, Sunday mornings, old school goodness and freshness all wrapped up in a song. Her weekly Spotify playlist gives an idea of what to expect from future releases and I’m ready for it.

Again, the nu-jazz scene in London is something to watch out for. I’m not afraid to say Tiana has the confidence, skills and personality to really pioneer the genre and push it forward. Presenting a mature and modern take on jazz, Tiana delivers soul soaked riffs, meaningful lyricism and an entrancing live performance, if you get the chance to catch her live you don’t want to miss it.

This girl is something else, her COLORS Berlin session left me with my mouth open. A flawless delivery and a hard hitting track thats difficult to ignore, I’m left questioning why I’ve only just come across this British grime artist. With 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with only one track up there it’s obvious everyone is as desperate to hear more as I am.

Malia has been about for a couple of years now but I feel like her latest EP ‘Late Bloomer’ released late last year really bought her into her own. It’s moodier and more mature than her previous releases giving it a real kick of soul and less innocence.
