YADI

London-born singer Yadi’s childhood was spent surrounded by a veritable patchwork of music brought about by the musical loves of her parents and their diffuse Algerian/Italian/Norwegian backgrounds. It stands to reason, then, that her own music would reflect this kaleidoscope of influences, as is evidenced beautifully on recent single ‘The Blow’.

Combining a shuffling, trippy electro backing and her dramatic, soaring voice, ‘The Blow’ is an enormous piece of interesting, hook-laden pop music. Her songs have attracted a number of impressive remixes previously, with ‘The Blow’ being most notably reworked by Joe Goddard. The single is out now, and Yadi plays a London show at Birthdays on April the 9th.
