Ladders Music Course Stage 2: Skills Development in Songwriting and Production

This 3-week crash course will give your fresh ideas, inspiration and expert tips on how to improve your songwriting. On Day 1 we will leave the traditional confines of the studio to visit unusual places and use the stories, themes and patterns we see there to inspire song creation. The idea is to leave your busy modern life behind for a day and give yourself precious time to let your mind wander. Day 2 will focus on how we then craft songs from this raw inspiration, both musically and lyrically. Day 3 will be an introduction to how we then make all of this into a recorded product and explore the basic of music production, recording and mixing.

Throughout this course, you will also discover how the creative aspects fit in within the wider music industry and will be introduced to a wide range of career paths available in this sector. Some prior experience with writing your own songs is preferable and a decent level of musicianship and English language skills is important.

24th, 31st October & 7th November 2018 (1pm –6pm)
