Ward Hadaway Strengthens its Healthcare Employment Offering With New Appointment
Digital Union Member, Ward Hadaway, has strengthened its offering by welcoming Employment and Healthcare expert James English to its team.
James, who joins Ward Hadaway as an Associate in the Employment department, will support the team as they continue to build on the firm’s already established services to the healthcare sector.
He brings with him almost 20 years’ experience of providing legal advice on a range of employment, HR and regulatory matters, representing clients within healthcare, social care, public sector and charities.
After graduating from the University of East Anglia, James worked at a number of law firms where he has represented employers and employees at Employment Tribunals across England and Wales and has given advice on trade union and industrial relations issues.
James, who is originally from Chester-le-Street, in County Durham, has also worked as an in-house legal adviser for a national consultancy. He has advised and represented employers across a whole range of sectors, but has a national reputation for advising NHS organisations.
He hailed Ward Hadaway as a “good fit” for the way in which he works with clients, saying: “I am delighted to join Ward Hadaway. Having worked on matters which have involved Ward Hadaway previously, I know the firm has an excellent reputation for engaging with its clients across the North and nationally and I am proud to be part of the team.”
In his spare time, James is a keen runner and has taken part in a number of half-marathon and 10k races. He recently cycled the Coast and Castles route along the Northumberland coast.
Paul Scope, Joint Head of Newcastle Employment, said: “James’s appointment is a clear sign of the progression that the firm has made over the years and we are delighted that he has decided to join us.
“We now have four dedicated Healthcare Employment lawyers in Newcastle, led by Stuart Craig. We are looking to expand the team further in the coming months and James is already working with Stuart and the team to develop our Healthcare Employment offering.
“James’s experience and expertise will be of great benefit to our clients and his approach to providing legal solutions fits in really well with the way we work.”
Jeffrey Keeble, Head of Healthcare at Ward Hadaway, added: “The healthcare sector is integral to the North East’s economy and as a sector expert with significant experience, James will be an extremely valuable addition to our team.
“James’s knowledge will further enhance the very specialist service which we provide to our clients.”
