PRETTY VICIOUS
Every once in a while there is a band that comes completely out of nowhere, unbeknownst to even the most informed in the respective local music scene. In the latter end of 2014, that band was Pretty Vicious.
Emerging out of Merthyr Tydfil, a town just over twenty miles north of Cardiff, the swift movement from local coverage and radio play to a major feature on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show was staggering for the group of 16/17 year olds, having only formed their band about six months earlier.
Immediately sparking intense industry interest, Pretty Vicious’ debut track ‘Cave Song’ has all the hallmarks of a band destined to write anthemic rock music. Snarling guitar lines and manic percussion immediately grab the listener and thrust them into a sound that is infectious and riveting in equal measure.
In making sure of a strong impact so early in their prospering career, Pretty Vicious are a band to watch out for this year and potentially many years to come.
