Generator’s Record Label Masterclass will give expert insight to new record labels and DIY artists. Although sales of recorded music have declined of late, there remains an appetite among would-be music moguls to set up new record labels. There is also a rapidly developing trend for artists to set up their own labels as a way of getting their music into the marketplace.
This is an ideal opportunity to further knowledge about releasing music and earning royalties as well as learning more about marketing and promotion.
Tim Dellow from Transgressive will join us to talk about how the label was set up from his bedroom and how it has gone from strength to strength in the 10 years it’s been running. Having worked with the likes of Bloc Party, The Shins and Graham Coxon in the past and currently working with, amongst others Foals, Two Door Cinema Club and Thumpers, Tim will provide an insight into how they took Transgressive from a fledgling indie record label to a world renowned and well respected brand.
