COVID-19 Advice and Resources

We have already seen the impact COVID-19 is having on the music community globally. With cancelled gigs and festivals, many musicians and music professionals will be hit hard financially and also mentally during these trying times. We have created this page to act as a central source of advice and guidance given from trusted sources and Tipping Point partners, including Help Musicians UK and PRS, to support you as much as possible.

North East Musicians and Music Industry Professionals Facebook Group

This group is to support the North East music industry during the coronavirus outbreak. This space is used to advise one another, chat or offer practical help to each other and those in need, share creative ideas, practical plans and any other constructive thoughts. Request to join.

Please note: We cannot directly advise on impacts of the Coronavirus, however we are still able to give more general advice and signpost where necessary. PRS For Music launches Membership emergency fund

The new fund is open to all PRS members around the world who have been a member for at least two years and earned over £500 in the last two years. Grants will be awarded based on assessment of individual need and applicants will receive support up to a value of £1000. Find out more.

Arts Council England is making £90 million available to NPOs to quickly reboot their programmes of work

They will be making the funding available to NPOs as soon as possible. Find out more.

Arts Council England have made £20 million available for artists, creative practitioners and freelancers

Artists and creative practitioners will be able to apply for grants of up to £2,500 if they have a track record in publicly funded culture. Find out more.

HMUK has launched an adapted round of their Do It Differently Fund

Awarded musicians will receive a grant of £3,000 to bring it to life and business coaching via Skype to help shape their future. Find out more.

The UK’s Association of Independent Music (AIM) has launched a support fund for contractors and freelance workers in the independent music industry who have lost income for April and May as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Find out more.
