Digital Debates: Digital Diversity

Generator is pleased to bring you the first of our Digital Debates: Digital Diversity.

With just 17% of tech roles in the UK being filled by women and only 7% of female students taking computer science A-level courses, it is vital that we do everything we can to balance this out. What’s more, women working in tech get paid at least 28% less than their male counterparts.

We will be debating this and much more during the panel event. Particularly focusing on what businesses in the region are doing to attract more diversity into the workforce and how to create an atmosphere to help women thrive in tech roles. The session will also debate how education can play its role in making STEM subjects more appealing to young women.

The event will be hosted by Tech Trust’s Deb McGargle and will feature speakers from Sunderland UniversityProctor & GambleConsult & Design and more to be confirmed.
